I’m honoured to have been selected to be the Labour Party candidate for the May elections. I’m a young woman who works as a software engineer. I’m passionate about supporting women and girls to take up STEM subjects in learning and roles in work. I have been a community volunteer for a number of years and particularly enjoy getting in involved in environmental projects.
I first started campaigning for the Labour Party after being frustrated by cuts to support and services that my disabled bother used to receive as well as my parents whom, alongside me provide his full-time care. Since joining the Party, I have been moved by the care and passion that Labour Councillors have for their communities.
I want to pay tribute to the amazing work Felicity has done in her time representing South Jesmond. Her accomplishments and work in the community has been phenomenal. As she retires from the council she leaves behind not only a fitting legacy of the community action but also an inspiration for others who follow her in what can be achieved working alongside residents.
As I continue to campaign across South Jesmond, I look forward to meeting as many residents as possible to listen to their concerns and ideas of how we can work together to make South Jesmond the best place to live and enjoy
