Local resident Stephen Barry-Stanners has been chosen as our Labour and Co-operative Party candidate for the local elections on 5th May. Living in the ward with his family, Stephen will be known to many local people through his work helping to keep our streets and green spaces litter free and from his work as a community champion; helping to solve local problems like broken fences, overgrown weeds and tackling dangerous fly tipping which the LibDem Councillors ignore!
Thanks to his work in our community, and his experience as a board member of several local organisations, charities, and Co-operative businesses, Stephen has both the drive and the ability to be a highly effective councillor for our area.
Stephen is a firm believer of getting our area the investment our community deserves after a decade of Government cuts and will be a strong local voice demanding that local services are given the funding they need after over a decade of under funding by the Conservative and Liberal Democrat’s austerity agenda.
The last few years have shown our local area at its best, but if we are going to build back better, we can’t afford more of the same from our current Liberal Democrat Councillors. We deserve a local voice who won’t make excuses or shout from the sidelines, but who will be on the ground working with local residents to make our area an even better place to live and work.
