Alex was born and raised in Newcastle. After graduating from Northumbria with a degree in Computing, Alex joined the Civil Service and serves as a Woolsington Parish Councillor.
As a key-worker in the Pension Service, Alex has spent the Coronavirus pandemic working to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
Alex said, “I care deeply about our city and I want to make a difference. I am an active member of the local community, I regularly take part in litter picks and in Newbiggin Hall I was delighted to literally get my hands dirty planting crocuses as part of the parish council’s biodiversity initiative.“
Alex is the treasurer of the Bell’s Yard Regeneration Group, an organisation that works to improve children’s play-spaces and was involved in a project to reduce youth on youth violence and anti-social behaviour.
Alex added, “Every week I conduct a ward walkabout and report any issues I see to the council. I also regularly phone residents to hear first-hand your ideas, thoughts and concerns. From the many conversations I’ve had with you I know that your priorities include tackling broken glass, litter, speeding traffic and anti-social behaviour. As your Councillor these will be my priorities too.”
