“I’m very proud to be selected to stand as the Labour party candidate for Fawdon & West Gosforth. I am very involved in the community and like to talk to people about their thoughts and needs for the ward and the city.
I am, like you, interested in protecting green spaces and having outdoor activity areas for all ages, but especially for children. ‘If you want something done, ask a busy person’. I got my Doctorate in Engineering from Newcastle University, while I was working as a researcher and raising a family.
I am working now as an engineer and am used to solving problems and managing priorities. All these working skills I see being useful to represent and speak up for residents. Being a lecturer in public transport in the past, I have both an expertise and interest to improve our transport links, cycle lanes and walkways, to be safe, accessible and interconnected. By also solving congestion and parking problems, especially round schools in the ward, we will improve safety and air quality. If elected I will work with you and for you to improve our area.”
