“I am honoured and eager to be standing as the Labour candidate for the Dene and South Gosforth Ward in the local elections. I have lived in the area for more than 30 years and appreciate what a great place the ward is to live. The Covid pandemic has affected us all in many ways and its effects will be felt for a lot of years to come.
It has been gratifying to see the way local communities have come together to support each other as exemplified by the numerous mutual aid groups that have sprung up. As well as providing support to those in need during the pandemic, Newcastle’s Labour-led council has received global recognition for its ground-breaking work in preventing homelessness and is tackling climate change with a detailed Action Plan to be net-zero carbon by 2030. As a Labour Councillor, I will work on behalf of the community and drive to maintain valuable services that will be targeted under the Tories.
I would like to ask you to vote for me so that I can fight for all who need help and provide a Labour voice for the Ward on the City Council.”
