Makeover for Denton Burn Community Centre

Denton Burn Community Association (DBCA) has a large plot of land at the back of the building that is overgrown with weeds and litter, and it really needs a makeover.

There are plans to turn this space into a community garden, possibly with an area for children to play, but DBCA wants your ideas to improve the community centre.

Your Labour councillors are supporting the management committee by meeting with a range of organisations that can provide help and advice about the community centre.  This includes Your Homes Newcastle, and lecturers and students from the Newcastle University School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape (NAPL), who will organise consultation events and help with ideas and designs for the land.  Cllr Marion Talbot said,

“We are so lucky to have support from Newcastle University. It’s a fantastic resource for the community centre.”

If you want to get involved in shaping the designs, look out for further information.
