Greening the West End

A public meeting to plan how to 'green' parts of Newcastle's inner West End will take place on Tuesday 15 September at the Nuns Moor Children's Centre, Studley Terrace, Arthur's Hill, at 6.30 pm.

The meeting has been arranged by the City Council's Wingrove Ward Councillors, and follows several months in which residents were invited to put forward ideas.

Wingrove Labour Councillor Nigel Todd, said:  'We're keen to make the Wingrove Ward a much 'greener' place, and especially to do something that will make the brick terraced streets and fairly beak back lanes into a more attractive place.  A number of ideas have been suggested, including using different kinds of plants to brighten up the Arthur's Hill terraces.  These could add something to the recent improvements around Stanhope Street.   Tuesday's informal public meeting is about making a start on fund raising and planning for next year.  Everyone is welcome.'
