 Thousands of Denton residents have recently benefited from the Warm Zone scheme - which helps you make your home cosier. Labour Cllr Michael Burke has been working hard to push the initiative that the last Labour government introduced, and it is still up for grabs for council tenants and homeowners alike.
Since May last year when Michael was elected, hundreds of homes in Denton have benefited and we don’t want you to miss out either. Newcastle Warm Zone offers FREE cavity wall and loft insulation for all homes in the City Council area if you are over 70 years of age, you get certain benefits, or if you live in a council house. Those not eligible for the free offer can still get it cheap... from as little as £99.
However the Denton Ward Committee has put £5,000 in the pot so that the first fifty people don’t have to pay for cavity wall insulation at all, whatever their circumstances. Just call 0191 277 7373 to arrange a free survey.
Labour candidate Simon Bird said:
‘‘This is a great way of getting your home insulated for free. Take up of this initiative in Denton was sluggish until Michael pushed this scheme and we want you to take advantage. Whatever your circumstances, it makes sense and will save you money.’’
Michael added:
‘This scheme delivers lasting improvements to homes, saves money, and saves tonnes of CO2 emissions. We want Denton residents to benefit. If the scheme proves popular, Simon and I will look towards extending the scheme further.''
