Nick has been a serving councillor representing Byker ward since 2002, he Chairs the Byker Ward committee, and also the Ouseburn Management Board, the body responsible for regeneration Ouseburn and South Byker. Nick is the Chair of the Strengthening the Economy Overview and Scrutiny Panel, and he is a member of the Tenants Involvement Advisory Group. He is the Labour group spokesperson on Skills, Business and the Economy. Nick is also a Director of East End Health, a health charity established to improve the health of residents in the East End.  Nick is fighting for landlord licensing to be introduced into Byker, for full and proper recycling services for all Byker residents and continues to fight to provide an efficient and economic heating system in the ward.
