Local resident and former Denton and Westerhope Councillor, Dan Greenhough, has been selected as Labour’s candidate for May’s local elections.
Dan, who lives in the ward in Westerhope Village, previously represented the area before standing down in 2019. Dan works for local Member of Parliament Catherine McKinnell and has supported residents in Denton and Westerhope for over a decade.
As a Councillor, Dan worked with local residents’ groups, community projects, schools, and the local community for many years. These have included projects to improve the environment through bulb planting and litter picking, helping secure funding for youth services and coordinating community safety days. In 2018, Dan raised £100s for Denton Youth and Community Project through his Great North Run.
Dan has worked with Catherine McKinnell to successfully campaign for the £22million successful Outer West Leisure development.
Dan commented “It was a privilege to represent Denton, then Denton and Westerhope as a local Councillor. I live in Westerhope and I care passionately about the area, our community, and making a positive difference.
“I have spent many hours volunteering in the area, supporting local projects, and out speaking to residents. I would be honoured to again be elected to represent my local community”.
