Byker PFI scandal

Local MP Nick Brown along with Cllrs Nick Kemp and George Allison recently took a number of Byker residents to Parliament to meet with Housing Minister John Healey to raise our serious concerns over the appalling application by the Liberal Democrat  for a housing PFI to renew the Byker Estate.  Cllr Nick Kemp states the whole thing has been a sham from the outset, the failure to engage with the local residents, the appalling application which failed to meet any of the criteria, the failure to develop alternatives because the Council claim this was the only possible way to deliver for Byker, and the subsequent usual pathetic blame culture response by Greg Stone, claiming the government has failed byker.  It is this Liberal Democrat City council that yet again fails Byker, a woeful bid and total failure to engage says everything.
The meeting arranged by Nick Brown MP of Byker Councillors and residents with John Healey MP has led to a special working group to be established to find a solution for the Byker Estate that clearly this administration are incapable of.
